| Benefits derived from experienced promoters and established presence within and outside India
The operations of the company are managed by Mr. Deepak Jalan. The group is the 2nd largest writing instruments manufacturer in India. The group has PAN India presence across all regions and moving towards a more homogenous presence across India. The group also exports to Europe, North America, South East Asia, South America, Africa among others. The group holds long standing relationship with customers and suppliers. Acuite believes that the benefits derived from promoters and established presence will help the group going forward.
Stagnant Scale of operation with expected benefit from ongoing capex and increased focused on other stationery item and ecommerce:
The group's operating revenue remained stable at Rs. 543.01 crore in FY26 as against Rs. 543.48 crore in FY25 despite weaker export demand due to geopolitical tensions and the absence of any major corporate order. The group has been diversifying its product portfolio through an increased focus on stationery products such as folders, calculators, twist crayons, graphite pencils, and markers marketed under the Linc brand, while also strengthening its e-commerce presence to drive future growth. Operating profitability moderated to 11.54% in FY26 from 12.13% in FY25 due to higher raw material and employee costs arising from sales team expansion. There is a moderation in PAT margin to 6.06% in FY 26 from 6.94% in FY 25 during the same period. Further, the group is undertaking a capex at a cost of Rs. 60 crore for integrating its manufacturing facility at Serakole, West Bengal, funded entirely through internal accruals. The facility, spread across approximately 1.5 lakh square feet, is expected to become operational in FY27 and will enable the consolidation of multiple manufacturing operations under a single location. The project is expected to enhance operating efficiencies through reduced logistical complexities and streamlined manufacturing processes which is expected to increase their operating efficiency in the medium term/ Additionally, the commencement of commercial operations at MIPL, which is linked to their operational of new factory, is expected to provide further support to revenue growth and strengthen the group's overall business profile over the medium term. Acuité believes the group's scale of operations is likely to improve going forward; however, its ability to sustain profitability amid raw material price volatility will remain a key monitorable.
Healthy Financial Risk profile:
The financial risk profile marked healthy supported by healthy net worth, low gearing and comfortable coverage indicators. The total tangible assets increased to Rs.259.37 crore in FY 26 from Rs.234.95 crore in FY 25 on account of accretion to reserves. Gearing stood low at 0.10 times in FY 26 as compared to 0.11 times in FY 25. Debt protection metrics stood healthy with interest coverage ratio and debt service coverage ratio stood at 20.16 times and 12.45 times in FY 26. ToL/TnW and Debt/EBITDA stood at 0.37 times and 0.42 times in FY 26. Acuite believes that financial risk profile is expected to remain healthy over medium term in absence of debt funded capex plan.
Moderate Working Capital cycle:
The working capital cycle of the group is moderate as reflected by Gross Current Assets (GCA) of 121 days in FY 26 as against 122 days in FY 25. The debtor period stood at 34 days as on March 31, 2026 as compared to 36 days as on March 31, 2025. The debtor ranges between 35-40 days. | Susceptible to volatility in raw material prices and expose to intense competition:
The group's profitability remains susceptible to volatility in raw material prices, particularly plastics, inks, pen tips, packaging materials, and other key inputs, which constitute a significant portion of its operating costs. Any sharp increase in raw material prices may not be immediately passed on to customers due to competitive market dynamics, thereby exerting pressure on operating margins. Further, fluctuations in commodity prices and supply chain disruptions can impact procurement costs and profitability.
Exposure to intense competition
The market remains highly competitive, characterized by the presence of large organized players as well as numerous regional and unorganized participants offering similar products. Intense competition limits the group's pricing flexibility, as any significant price increase may impact demand and market share. Consequently, the group may not always be able to fully pass on increases in raw material, freight, or employee costs to customers in a timely manner, which can exert pressure on operating margins. Further, continuous product innovation, brand building, and distribution strengthening are essential to maintain its competitive position in the stationery industry.
