Rating Rationale

Acuité has downgraded and withdrawn its long-term rating to ‘ACUITE B+’ (read as ACUITE B Plus) from 'ACUITE BB' (read as ACUITE Double B) on the Rs.18.18 Cr. bank facilities of BWDA Finance Limited. The rating has been withdrawn on account of the request received from the issuer and the NOC (No Objection Certificate) received from the lender. The rating downgrade is on account of information risk.

Further, Acuité has withdrawn its long-term rating on Rs.127.43 Cr. bank facilities of BWDA Finance Limited without assigning any rating as the instrument is fully repaid. The rating has been withdrawn on account of the request received from the issuer and No Due Certificate (NDC) received from the lender.

Acuité has also withdrawn its rating on the proposed long-term bank facilities of Rs.154.39 Cr. of BWDA Finance Limited without assigning any rating as it is a proposed facility. The rating has been withdrawn on account of the request received from the issuer.

The rating has been withdrawn as per Acuite's policy of withdrawal of ratings as applicable to the respective instrument/facility.
The rating continues to be flagged as “Issuer Not Cooperating” and is based on the best available information.

About the Company

Incorporated in 2003, Tamil Nadu based BWDA Finance Limited (BFL) is a Non-banking financial institution - Micro finance institution (NBFC-MFI) engaged in providing financial services predominantly to women borrowers through Self Help Group (SHG) and Joint Liability Group (JLG) model. BFL is promoted by Mr. Joslin Thambi and is providing financing mainly for agriculture and allied activities and micro business activities.
